Angel Luis Feliciano Tenor, described as having a beautiful lyric voice was born in Brooklyn, NY, of Puerto Rican parents.   His vocal training commenced with the late Katherine Gardella. He is a graduate of the Harbor Performing Arts Center in New York, and continues to study voice with Siri Rico Berenstein.  

 

He began his career singing zarzuela with various companies in the New York area under the direction of Pablo Zinger, Silvia Brito and others.

 

Upon joining the Boricua College Chorus in 1988 under the direction of Abraham Lind-Oquendo, he has had distinguished performances as a soloist with this ensemble in oratorio, musical theater and opera productions and received the 2006 Cantico Operistico award by El Instituto de Cultura de Puerto Rico granted by President Maria Rodriguez. In 2009 he won the Concert Latin Ace Award. He was the recipient of the Boricua Chorus' President’s award, granted by Mr. Lind-Oquendo for  his talent, versatility and dedication.  Mr. Feliciano has garnered applause for his appearances as lead tenor with varoius opera companies under the direction of Vincent La Selva, Anthony Amato and Guillermo Figueroa. He has performed in the following operas: Don Pasquale, Cosi Fan Tutte, Don Giovanni, Die Zauberflote, I Pagliacci, La Traviata, Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Carmen, Die Fledermaus, The Marriage of Figaro, Rigoletto and Lucia Di Lammermoor among others.

ESPAÑOL Ángel Luís Feliciano, Tenor, posee una bella voz de tenor lírico.  Nacio en Brooklyn, Nueva York, de padres puertorriqueños.  Comenzo su educacíon vocal con la fenecida Katherine Gardella.  Tiene una Maestría en Música del Harbor Performing Arts Center en Nueva York.  Actualmente estudia canto con Siri Rico Berenstein.

Su inicio en la música fue cantando zarzuelas en varias compañias en el area de Nueva York.  Ha sido dírigido por Pablo Zinger, Silvia Brito y otros.  Ha participado en las siguientes zarzuelas: El Dúo De La Africana, El Barbero De Sevilla, Agua, Azucarillos y Aguardiente, Las Leandras, La Cuarteria De El Muerto Parao, Luisa Fernanda, La Dolorosa y Los Claveles.

 

En el 1988 se unio al Coro de Boricua College, bajo la direccíon del baritone Abraham Lind-Oquendo.  Con esta organizacíon ha tenido participaciones destacadas como solista en oratorios, obras musicales y en producciones de ópera.   Fue honrado con la Medalla del Presidente de Boricua College, otorgada por el señor Abraham Lind-Oquendo en reconocimiento de su talento, polifacético y dedicacíon. premio Cantico Operistico 2006 otorgado por el Instituto de cultura de Puerto Rico. Premio Especial Ace 2009 conciertos Peter Bloch. El señor Feliciano ha cozechado aplausos con su participaciones como tenor principal en varias compañias de ópera bajo la direccíon de Vincent La Selva, Anthony Amato y Guillermo Figueroa.  Ha participado en las siguientes óperas: Don Pasquale, Cosí Fan Tutte, Don Giovanni, Die Zauberflöte, I Pagliacci, La Traviata, Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Carmen, Die Fledermaus, The Marriage of Figaro, Rigoletto and Lucia Di Lammermoor entre otras.

 

Ha cantado oratorios y música religiosa con La Orquesta Sinfónica del Salvador, the Berkely Symphony Orchestra, The Apple Chamber Ensemble, The New York Grand Opera Ensemble, The New York Choral Society, The American Orchestra, The Bronx Arts Ensemble of New York y The Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra.  El señor Feliciano ha ofrecido conciertos a través de los Estados Unidos, Centro América y Puerto Rico.

 

 

Mr. Feliciano had the honor of singing the premier of the “Soy Espíritu Inquieto”  from Manuel B. Gonzalez Opera “Armagosso” with text by Pedro Rojas-Peterson.

 

Recitals include frequent collaborations with sopranos Siri Rico and Thelma Ithier-Sterling. He was accompanied by Maestro George Dunbar at Christ and St. Stephens Church under the co-sponsorship of Música de Cámara.

 

Mr. Feliciano is often called upon to utilize his acting skills and has enjoyed numerous theatrical engagements. Musical theater credits include Five Men & a Night at Teatro La Tea, and Romance at Teatro SEA, both in the original cast and the recent revival.

 

He has appeared in Law & Order with Michael Imperioli & Dennis Farina, and in Independent Film Cursed Women as Ernesto and as Pericles Franco in Carlos Moreno “The Mirabal Sisters”based on a true chapter of Dominican history.

 

From 2013-14 he collaborated with guitar duo Lisa y Josué in concerts featuring music from Puerto Rico. They played in such venues as Merkin Hall, Qué Viva la Música en Bushwick, JASA, and Ridgefield Park Summer Concerts. As a trio, they recorded a CD entitled Cantando así.
